With the shift in seasons, it’s time to trade in your mohair knits and wool overcoats - ideally all from Wax - for something better suited to the warmer days ahead. Spring and summer offer the perfect opportunity to embrace a new range of seasonally appropriate fabrics. And here’s a little secret - unique fabrications are what we do best.
Think breathable linens, textured jacquard, pointelle, crochet knits, and the exciting debut of a brand-new fabric for Wax. So, let us take you through our ultimate guide to the standout fabrics of our SS25 collection - plus a few of our favourite pieces along the way.
With warmer days ahead, the classic t-shirt is set to take center stage in your wardrobe - but ours are anything but ordinary. Our Dean tees are crafted from an exclusive 280g textured organic jersey, offering a premium weight and an ultra-soft feel against the skin. The real standout feature? Its unique texture, adding just the right amount of visual interest - exactly what you want from a go-to spring and summer tee. If you're looking to elevate your everyday essentials, you’re in the right place.
The undisputed king of summer fabrics has landed in our SS25 collection. Is anyone surprised? Definitely not - but it wears the crown for a good reason. Lightweight, effortlessly breathable, and moisture-absorbing with natural antibacterial properties, linen is a true saviour in high temperatures. What we love most, though, is its versatility. You’ll find it woven throughout our collection, from the linen-cotton blend Turin polos, Denali trousers and Didcot shirts, to our bold lineup of 100% linen tailoring.
At Wax, we’ve always had a soft spot for jacquard, and SS25 is no exception. Its intricate, textured patterns bring just the right amount of depth and dimension to warm-weather dressing. So much so that you’ll find it woven throughout many of our key categories. In trousers, it makes an appearance with our Kurts, while the Eldon and Iggy jackets get the jacquard treatment in our outerwear lineup. And, of course, our overshirt collection wouldn’t be complete without it - the Otto features a quilted jacquard design, adding just a touch of extra warmth for early spring days and those cooler summer evenings.
If linen reigns as the king of warm-weather fabrics, then seersucker is the heir apparent. Best known for its signature puckered texture, seersucker isn’t just about looks - it’s built for function. The raised weave allows air to circulate more freely, lifting the fabric off the skin for a breezier feel. Plus, it helps moisture evaporate faster, keeping you cool and dry even on the hottest days. Our Rove striped shirt is a standout seersucker piece, but you’ll also find it in our Eldon jacket silhouette and across our suiting collection. Watch your back, linen - you may be usurped.
In the last few years, menswear has fully embraced crochet - your nan may have been the original trendsetter - but we’re just as hooked. Breezy, breathable, and beautifully intricate, this open-knit technique perfectly balances vintage charm with modern elegance. But this isn’t our first rodeo. Last summer, the Porto was our standout crochet piece, and due to popular demand, it’s back - this time in two fresh, vibrant colourways, along with restocks of last season’s favourites. If you haven’t jumped on the crochet train yet, now’s the time.
Pointelle is practical, sophisticated, and - dare we say - essential for the warmer months. If you're unfamiliar, pointelle is a refined knitting technique that creates a pattern of delicate openwork holes, resulting in a lacy, textured effect. Beyond its undeniable beauty - perfectly showcased in our Crosby cardigan and Sienna polo - pointelle is lightweight, breathable, and impressively durable. For those smarter warm-weather occasions, a pointelle knit is always a solid choice.
Never heard of a dobby weave? We've got you. It’s a textured fabric created using a specialised loom that lifts and lowers individual yarns to form small, geometric patterns woven directly into the fabric. The result is a subtle, raised texture that adds depth and character to the material without being as bold as jacquard or printed fabrics. You can find this new design across our trio of Lido short-sleeved shirts, which perfectly highlight the visual interest the technique can add to an otherwise minimal summer staple.
Finally, something that’s both beautiful and buttery-soft. We first explored leather with our Kendall jacket, but for SS25, a suede option was a natural next step. Unlike heavier leathers, suede is lighter and more breathable - perfect for transitioning between seasons while still offering that timeless leather jacket appeal. Our new Fen suede jacket comes with a pre-aged vintage effect, but the beauty of suede lies in its evolution - over time, it will continue to develop a rich patina and mould to your silhouette, making it uniquely yours. We’re introducing the Fen for SS25, but it’s built to be a staple in your wardrobe for years to come.
