We’re proud to share that Wax is sponsoring a team taking on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge — also known as the world’s toughest row!
We’re supporting team Latitude 35, a group of four friends who are setting sail from San Sebastian in the Canary Islands and rowing more than 3,000 miles to Antigua.
Dixon McDonald, Jimmy Carroll, Todd Hooper, and Jono Mawson — whose backgrounds range from financial services to the armed forces — kick off this huge undertaking this week and will be rowing for the next 5 weeks.
These guys are no strangers to adventure. From tours in Afghanistan to IRONMAN races, they’re well versed in testing their endurance and teamwork. The Atlantic Challenge is an incredible bucket list journey that the team is about to undertake, all in the name of four important charities.
Together, they’re raising money for Achilles International, the Brian Cross Memorial Trust, Not Forgotten Association, and the Pelorus Foundation. So far, Hooper (a friend of Wax) has raised £70,000 for brain tumour research done by the Brian Cross Memorial Trust, which is an incredible feat in itself!
This is the first time that we’ve been able to support such an exciting and important event, and we couldn’t be more proud of the team for their dedication and drive.
We’ll be giving you regular updates about the team’s progress as they row the Atlantic in the coming weeks. You can follow their journey on their Instagram and if you can, please donate to the charities involved here.
