If you were to peek into the dictionary for the definition of autumn, corduroy would likely be there, possibly with a little old man sitting on a rocking chair. Well, maybe not, but you get the idea. This fabric is practically synonymous with the season - and frankly, we’re fans. If you think corduroy is just relegated to your dad’s vintage jacket or the quirky thrift store finds, it’s time for a wake-up call. At Wax, our corduroy collection is more thrilling than ever. Here are 9 must-have pieces that will convince you that you need more corduroy in your life.
Our new Park jacket is a boxy blouson beauty. The rich midnight navy corduroy is impressive on its own, but the real highlight is the intricate beige embroidery, with baroque-inspired motifs and botanical details that make it truly one-of-a-kind. You could say we knocked it out of the park.
An overshirt is an autumn essential, especially in corduroy. Our classic Whiting silhouette now comes in a rich ochre corduroy option, which, if you ask us, is pretty sharp. And while it’s got a fresh fabric update, the Whiting is just as versatile as ever.
The corduroy Kyle trousers are built with everyday comfort in mind. Relaxed fit? Check. Drawstring waistband? Check. Cosy corduroy construction? Triple check. They’re perfect to don now and into the coldest parts of the season.
We probably don’t need to tell you that corduroy suits are back in a big way - but here we are. Our Fintry blazer and Alp trousers combine to create a corduroy suit that’s the perfect mix of style and substance. And with a slim, tailored fit, there’s no risk of being mistaken for a substitute teacher.
Sure, you’re familiar with corduroy, but what about seersucker corduroy? The unique texture of our new Shelly shirts combine the textured ridges of classic cord with a subtle puckered finish. Perfect for autumn layers, but light enough to see you through to spring.
The Cartha is another corduroy jacket you need on your wishlist. It’s made from 100% jumbo cord - larger, chunkier ribs, if you didn’t know - and features a printed bespoke Wax geometric design conjured up by our design team. Clever, aren’t they?
The Trin has had a seasonal upgrade - actually, make that two. First, it's now crafted in a fine corduroy fabric (hence its spot on this list), and second, it sports embroidered geometric motifs. If standout shirting is on your radar, the new Trin should be front and center.
The Raleigh’s are proof that corduroy can be dressed up. With double front pleats and a subtle taper towards the ankle, they’re a refined yet practical choice for the season that doesn’t skimp on sophistication. But don’t be shy about dressing them down - these versatile trousers can handle it all.
