AW22 New Knitwear Styles

Wax London New Knitwear, model wears Stoner Jumper in pub settting.

As the weather cools and autumn sets in, it’s time to put the short sleeves away, and start layering up. While we’re sad to say goodbye to the light evenings, we’re looking forward to wearing our new knitwear and layering up with our new coats too.

This season we’ve expanded our offering with new styles, shapes and colourways. So whether you’re a stickler for something simple, or prefer a soft layer there’s plenty to choose from.

When designing our jumpers, we consider every occasion to which they might be worn, from nesting down at home, to the office, to weekends away with friends and more. This is because the right jumper is like a safety blanket, it can get you through the autumn and winter chills, it can reassure you when things are going wrong.

So far this season, we have three jumper shapes. Each shape is unique in design and fit, but all equally as comfortable and flattering.

Stoner Jumper
Introducing the Stoner Jumper, available in Moss and Charcoal, made from a wool blend in a chunky cable knit, with a ribbed mock neckline and plait knit detailing on the body and arms. Designed for a relaxed fit, and with a slightly longer body and higher neckline this jumper is cosy and comfortable in more ways than one.

Grove Knit
The Grove knit, available in Sage, Navy, Natural and Black is made from a wool/cotton blend. The Grove has a crew neckline which is ribbed, as well as ribbed cuffs and hemline and dropped shoulders for a relaxed fit. In true Wax spirit, the body of the Grove knit in Sage and Navy has a diagonal knit design, whereas the Natural and Black has horizontal cable knit detailing.

Cupar Knit
The Cupar knit in cable knit, the style traditionally worn by sailors at sea for it’s heat retention qualities, is available in Navy and Natural. Made from 100% lambswool this jumper is super soft, comfortable and even warmer. Designed for a sleek, yet relaxed fit, this jumper is ideal for layering up either over a t-shirt or shirt, or under a coat as the winter weather sets in.

We’re avid fans of a Cardigan at Wax HQ, we think they’re the easiest layering piece as they are warm and yet not too heavy. Being able to button up, or button down a cardigan is essential for keeping you the perfect temperature. A cardigan can instantly dress an outfit up or down. When designing the cardigans we took all of this into account.

Aird Cardigan
First up, the Aird Cardigan available in Navy or Caramel is a highlight this season. Made from 95% cotton and 5% cashmere in a chunky textured stitch knit, this cardigan is super soft and perfect for layering. The Aird is traditional in design as it has a traditional collar, button down detailing, and two large front patch pockets.

Schill Cardigan
The Schill Cardigan available in Moss or Black is made from a wool blend with Corozo nut buttons. Cut for a relaxed fit with a V-neckline, a contrast stripe through the placket and ribbed cuffs and hem in a Wax take on leopard print, an abstract leopard pattern.

Traditionally, the vest has had a bad rap, but we’re not sure why. The Vest is having somewhat of a renaissance, and we can see why. It has become our go-to piece for those in between weather days, layered up over short or long sleeve t-shirts, or a shirt, it is bound to keep you just right when you need a little extra warmth.

Wes Vest
Enter the Wes Vest, paying homage to our favourite musicians through their favourite print, the leopard print. In true Wax fashion, we have paid homage through an abstract leopard pattern in this knit form. Made with wool, with a v-neckline and ribbed neckline, arms and hemline, this vest is super soft and cut for a slim fit, keeping it flattering and not too bulky. Available in Khaki and Black.
